the song:
A
sly bedtime story (but not exactly a
lullaby) about three cats who climb up a
spider's web to have a picnic on the moon.
As they walk around the moon to the side
we never see from Earth, they find
something quite surprising. After
cavorting about, they creep back down to
their rooms and reluctantly go to bed.
Adults will love this too - indeed, you
could use the song as an offbeat way to
end a set or a program, sending your
audience into the night with a smile and a
wink. By the way, there are several
personal references in this song. One of
them is that odd town name in the first
line. When I was teaching at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, I lived
off in the Taconic hills near the real
Poestenkill. But I only had two
cats. Gender
